Satisfied customers do not give referrals . . . Amazed customers do. So constantly amaze your customers with results they could never have even imagined . . . before they met you.
During a very first meeting with a prospect, I’ll ask him what he wants, clearly define it. And then I’ll ask him why ONLY that much, that far, that fast. Why not reach for 2 times that, 5 times that, even 100 or 1,000 times that?
You see EVERY prospect, every customer, has built in self limiting beliefs. And your job as a coach is to help them reach things they couldn’t ever get to without you, and that includes their internal self limiting beliefs.
So when they answer why they either didn’t even consider that 2 times, 5 times, or 100 times, it might be simply they didn’t think of it, didn’t think they could possibly get there, or worse, believed it was too hard, too much work, or would take too much time or money to get there.
So, my simply reply is, “Well, if you could actually have 5 times what you want in less time with less effort and less money than you think it will take, or possibly less than you spend now . . . would that interest you . . . or what would that do for you?”
And BINGO! You have a client!
Isn’t that what coaches are supposed to do . . . Take clients to places they couldn’t reach before you came along?
